The Amazing Putter and The Amazing Putting Method & DVD and BirdieBall Dozen
Straight back and straight through or on an arc back and arc through... it is controlled by wrist hinge not shoulder tilt.
If you are a feel putter you will love this method. As for the putter. The putter is not as upright as conventional putters. In order to make sure there is a solid anchor on your thigh, upper leg or hip the putter leans up against your body, this requires a little steeper angle away from putter head. You can see this in the photos of the putter on the right. Also you will see the anchoring concept in the videos that you watch discussing the product.
The instructional DVD which comes free with the amazing putter will get you comfortable very quickly with the concept. Practice is the perfection of the method. The best geometry for this method is the Amazing Putter set up.
I was skeptical and like I said, this is the first putter we have ever endorsed. Putting is personal but if you have ever had the YIPS, that is having a hard time taking it back and then through on the same line then this is the putting method for you. No one will even notice that you have changed to this perfectly legal method. It is very, very subtle but meaningful.
OK, if you are like me, you are a hard sell and particularly skeptical about putters. The video below, when the putter was actually called another name convinced me. Jack Youngblood is a man's man and yet he was an erratic putter. An awesome athlete but he need to anchor his wrists to putt... low and behold it saved him and it saved me too!
This method is not new. Jack Nicklaus used this method. It just did not have a name or a big following because Jack used this method to finish not to lag. Lagging requires a shoulder turn and certainly this putter allows for that method as well. However, when the ball had to go in the hole from 25' (twenty five feet) and in, this wristy, wrist anchored method was how Jack putt. Take a look at how low Jack is in all of the old video footage of him putting. He is so low and uses a short putter that he could anchor to his upper leg. He is very "wristy" and the top of the putter never leaves the top of his thigh to the middle of his stomach area.
